Nicole Walters, CEO and founder of Inherit Learning Company, chats with Nicole Gibbons, CEO and founder of Clare, about navigating the pandemic and building a stronger business.

Nicole Walters, founder and CEO of Inherit Learning Company and star of USA Network’s She’s The Boss, recently spoke with Nicole Gibbons, CEO and founder of Clare, about how the shift from in-office to at-home affected her business.
The pivot, Gibbons says, went pretty smoothly thanks to various tech collaboration tools, and it really highlighted something that Gibbons has always believed is vital to success: processes.
“Don’t underestimate the importance of planning and process,” she told Walters. “When you’re early stage, you’re sort of figuring things out as you go along, which is to be expected. But I’m a big proponent of ‘If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.'”
Gibbons believes it is crucial during good times and bad to have a plan of action that everyone on the team understands. Having a system internally and externally with outside vendors will make your business operate much more efficiently and keep everyone moving toward that same communal goal. Processes provide clarity and the all-important forward momentum.
“Develop processes that can be repeated and can scale as your business grows,” she says.
